Walking the Icknield Way from Hitchin to Baldock

30 April @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm

Free

Join local walking group Stag Walkers to walk part of the Icknield Way, the long-distance trail which passes through Baldock.

Today’s walk starts in Hitchin, heads through the countryside around Ickleford, then goes through Letchworth before finishing in Baldock – following as closely as possible an ancient trackway said to be “the oldest road in Britain”. The route is 7.5 miles / 12km, partly on pavement and partly on rural footpaths, and will take approximately 3.5 hours.

Please wear appropriate footwear and bring packed lunch for a picnic break at Norton Common.

The walk is organised by Stag Walkers, a Ramblers group aimed mainly at people in their 20s, 30s and slightly older. The event is open to Ramblers members and non-members, who are welcome to join three group walks free of charge.
